Our Story

Let’s Talk Now was formed in 2013 to implement restorative justice practices and decrease the disproportionate number of students of color suspended and referred to the juvenile justice system-immediately disrupting the school to prison pipeline

We started in three middle schools on an on-call basis, and soon progressed to being called to resolve conflict in more middle schools, high schools, and many elementary schools.

In 2019 we became imbedded in two middle schools and after the pandemic we were in all 10. We conduct mediations between student to student, student to staff, staff to admin, and staff to parent. We conduct community building and conflict circles, as well as small groups, and peer leadership training. As of February 2024, we have been awarded the contract to become imbedded in elementary schools.

Our Vision

To train community leaders in effective, evidence-based restorative justice practices and connect them with students and school leaders who need their help to build a restorative justice culture in our schools.
